Our Softball Player

Ashton was heavily influenced by her cousin, Regan, last year playing T-Ball, so when it was her turn to pick a sport, that's what she chose.

Except that we couldn't find a T-Ball team for her age.
So our girl, who had never hit a ball in her life, was stuck with coach-pitch softball.

Her first practice dawned dark, dreary and rainy.  Andy was out of town.  I had all the kids, and a soccer game to go to as well later that day.  So I wasn't a happy camper.
But Ashton was excited.

Cayden and Lillian had fun splashing in the puddles with their new rainboots.

Mason sat in the stroller, bundled up.

Luckily there's also a nice playground right there.

Ashton learned how to field and throw the ball.

Hitting was a little more challenging.

But she did it, with a little help from her coach.

Since then she's been able to do it quite a bit on her own.

Some of the boys on the team are pretty good, and there's also one other girl who has about the same experience as Ashton.

Andy thinks Ashton is going to be our little Athlete.
Who knows...
Right now she's just having fun.
