Lillian was pretty excited about her first Field Trip. Her preschool planned a day to go up to a Fall Festival at a Nursery in Springfield. I was excited to go also. Virginia has some amazing Fall Festivals, and we didn't get the chance to go to any last Fall.
Coming in, the girls were both entertained by the silly mirrors.
Lillian loved the pumpkins, and was so excited that we got to go home with three little ones of our own.
Mason, on the other hand, was a little nervous about all the activity going on around her. She chose to stick to her stroller while Lillian tried out all the slides and fun things.
Finally I got her to go out and explore.
The mechanical horse ride was a big hit with both girls. They rode over and over until other kids started lining up for their turn.
We met up with Lillian's class to go on a tractor-pulled hay ride.
There were lots of scenes set up along the ride, including aliens, mummies, vampires, skeletons - almost any random spooky thing you could think of.
Mason didn't really pay attention to the scenes, but enjoyed the ride.
Lillian looked around with wide eyes, but instead of being scared, asked about a million questions about what kind of monsters there were, how they got there, why they were there, what they did, etc.
She's just a little inquisitive...
Anyway, she liked the ride enough to ask to go on a second.
Both girls enjoyed the merry-go-round, although Mason kept trying to stand up as it was going in circles.
Lillian loved this little cat slide,
and Mason could have spent hours wandering through this little train.
At the end, we found Lillian's teacher, Ms. Verity, and her class, picked out our pumpkins and went home.
What a fun trip. I hope we get to go again next Fall!
