Memorial Day

Memorial Day was our last day at the Segalla's before we had to get home for Andy to start his new job, and the kids to go back to school.
And of course, we filled it with lots of fun!

The kids played some mean games of Mario Kart.
Cayden and Bella were actually pretty good.

Much better than me...

It was seriously so funny seeing how into it they got, especially Cayden.

Monday was Bella's 7th birthday, so her meal request was egg-rolls.  Which Julie made, completely from scratch.  OK, and Andy, Jake and I helped a tiny bit, but this was seriously a process that she started the night before, and took like 4 or 5 hours in the end.

But they were SOOOO good, and so worth it!
YUM.

Bella opened her presents and we all gobbled up the cake.

Happy Birthday, Bella!

Before we left, Andy and Jake took the kids on an adventure down to the train tracks.

Andy had been looking through Julie's collection of smooshed pennies which they had gotten at places they'd visited.  Andy and Ashton really like to do that too, but somehow we seem to lose all the pennies, so have nothing to show for it.  Andy came across some that Jake had smooshed on train tracks.  And since there were train tracks within walking distance to the house, they all decided to go experiment.

The kids loved it, and they ended up with some pretty good ones!

I love this line-up of all the kids (and Jake to hold up Will).
