Seabee Days

Seabee Days is a carnival held once a year at CBC Gulfport.  They open the base to the public and in addition to the carnival, they put on displays about the Seabees, what they do, and the kind of equipment they use.  Each of the battalions, regiments, FRGs and other base organizations can rent a booth and sell food and things as a fundraiser.

We went both years that we lived in Gulfport.  The kids had so much fun after the first year, that they spent all year talking about it and were so excited the next time it rolled around.

Then this year, it just happened to be held the weekend we were visiting.

So of course, we went.

The kids rode ponies - both real and fake,

They learned about bungee jumping,

pet, fed and held farm animals,

played in lots of bouncy houses, as much as they wanted,

and rode carnival rides over and over and over...

Even Andy and I got in on it, a little bit!

Colter hung out, happy in his stroller, and slept a few times.  He was a little trooper!

Such a cute baby!

Even Mason was freed from her stroller, occasionally.

She had fun running around and playing with Brooklyn when they were too little for the rides.

The best part for me, other than spending so much time with my family, was seeing some of our friends from Gulfport.  We sure miss all these people!

Sterling is deployed to Afghanistan, like Jason, right now.

 And Bob, Michelle, Robbie and Emma Stiles, among others.

I really loved the people we were with in Gulfport, and hope that we can meet up again some day!

And of course I couldn't leave without taking a picture of my favorite gun-toting bee!
